The event will start with a parade of serving armed forces, veterans and cadet forces setting off from the Leigh Town Hall at 10.30am. Anyone wishing to take part in the parade will need to meet at the parade start by 10am. This will end at the Leigh Sports Village where an open air service and veterans badge ceremony will take place. This will then be followed by an open day of activities and displays including:
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flyover; full size Static spitfire with working engine; Pegasus exhibition; Military Vehicles; Combat Flight Simulators; Historical DVD and presentation displays; Health, social care and welfare information stalls; Brass band music all day Children's fairground rides and much more *all activities/displays subject to change
Free of charge designated buses will be made available for shuttling attendees throughout the event from both Wigan and Leigh bus stations to the Leigh Sports Village (will be signposted at bus stations). There will be free parking available at the event site.
