LinkedIn: Savvy Ways to Build Your Business
Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 5:30 – 7:30 pm PST
Early online registration closes Monday, April 20, 2009, 12 Noon
Getting started on LinkedIn is easy, but using LinkedIn as a powerful business development tool requires strategy and savvy thinking. Are you wondering whether you are using LinkedIn wisely? Do you question whether it's a suitable strategy for your particular consulting business? Do you fear putting in a lot of effort for little return?
Our April San Francisco meeting features three consultants who use LinkedIn as an integral part of business development strategy.
ß Robin Frank is a social media maven, an expert at creating "media snacks" to entice people to learn about her and her business. In the last 6 months, she has successfully reinvented herself as a Social Media Strategist and a marketer in the Cleantech Arena with some smart re-positioning on LinkedIn and clever follow through in the online world and in person.
ß Kelly Parkinson of Copylicious helps businesses fight robot invasions. She writes websites, emails, and case studies for professional services firms whose prospects need to get what's in it for them--without getting buried in robot-speak. The last time Kelly used LinkedIn to grow her business, she got a 41% response rate and six clients.
ß JoAnne Auerbach is a long-time executive recruiter & consultant who recruits for VP-Director-Senior Manager positions for technology, healthcare, and professional services companies. A member of LinkedIn since January 2004, she uses it extensively to research and connect with candidates or those who can lead her to candidates, but doesn't use it as much as she should for her own business development activities.
Panelists will speak from their experience, offer tips, and answer questions about whether and how LinkedIn (and other social media) can contribute to business development for you. There will be time for lots of networking and discussion.
WIC San Francisco's theme for 2009 is Learning from and with Each Other. Bring your questions, your ideas, plenty of business cards, and your desire to learn and to share your knowledge.
