Concerned with ideas about the fluidity of memory, mapping systems and the attachment of story to object, Michelle Montjoy cuts and transforms old family clothing, sewing patterns and maps into carcasses containing the residue of personal memory. Using techniques in drawing, painting and sculpture, Montjoy creates works of delicate, yet discomforting, beauty.
