On Thursday, November 5, at 7 p.m., the Tigard Public Library will present a free program about the 1935 fire that destroyed Oregon's Capitol building. "Whodunit: The Burning of Oregon's Capitol in 1935" features Kyle Jansson, Coordinator of the Oregon Heritage Commission.
In the middle of the Great Depression, Oregon's Statehouse, modeled after the U.S. Capitol, suddenly burned to the ground on a beautiful spring day. Investigators later uncovered several surprising clues to the fire's cause.
The program will be held in the Library's Community Room. For more information, please call the Library at 503-684-6537 or visit the Library's Web page at http://www.tigard-or.gov/library/ and click on Adult Programs.
