All during October, White Springs is celebrating the town’s 125th birthday. The finale of the celebration is the White Springs River Rally and Festival which will be held on October 30, from 9:00am to 6:00pm. It is a good opportunity to come out and enjoy a cool, fall day in historic White Springs. Festivities will include a car, motorcyle and tractor show, arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, and live entertainment by the Willow Creek Band.
The festival will be centered at the historic two-story Adams Country Store, established in 1865, and currently being restored by Raymond Cheshire. White Springs has so much to offer and enjoy in the way of the beautiful Suwannee River, picturesque historic homes, bed and breakfasts, and stores. White Springs Vice Mayor Walter McKenzie will lead a walking tour to showcase the area’s unique history. The event is partially sponsored by the Town of White Springs, First Federal Bank and American Pawn Brokers.
Entry fees for classic cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles are $10.00 and registration is from 8:00 to 11:30am. Vehicles will be judged and awards will be given in all classes plus a Best of Show award in each category.
More arts & crafts vendors are welcome, and the vendor fee is only $30.00. For more information, call Wendell Snowden at 386-963-1157 or e-mail: wendellsnowden@prodigy.net.
