A D.J. will be spinning the sounds of Miles Davis' famous sidemen starting at 6 p.m.

The Whitaker Community Concert for May celebrates an artist and recording that is iconic - nearly everyone reveres Miles Davis and his recording, "Kind of Blue." The Legacy Jazz Quintet is led by pianist and Jazz St. Louis' Director of Education Phil Dunlap.
Dunlap has assembled a group of the finest players in the St. Louis area. The band is in the mold of the classic groups of Miles Davis, Art Blakey and Horace Silver from the 1950s and '60s. They will play a number of selections from "Kind of Blue," as well as several other Miles Davis classics.

Whitaker Community Concerts, presented by Jazz St. Louis and sponsored by American Family Insurance, aim to increase awareness and appreciation of jazz throughout the region and attract new audiences for jazz in divergent communities.

The Whitaker Foundation has been a generous supporter of Jazz St. Louis for many years. The foundation works to enrich lives through the arts.
