Dr. Richard K Spruill, an Associate Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at East Carolina University, is leading our next discussion, Where Will Your Next Drop Come From: Aquifers and Groundwater in Eastern North Carolina, at the next science café on February 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Tipsy Teapot located at 409 Evans St # B, Greenville, NC 27858.

Dr. Spruill has a Bachelors and Master’s from East Carolina University and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina.

His current research projects involve determination of aquifer parameters and recharge areas for the Castle Hayne Aquifer System, the design/implementation/evaluation of high-capacity well fields for municipal water supplies, and the development of new strategies for well head protection based on hydrologic analysis of movement of groundwater within and between aquifers.
