When She Danced by Martin Sherman
directed by Will Jude
presented by Theatre of Arts
From the author of the award winning play “Bent”, comes the West coast premiere of Martin Sherman’s new play “When She Danced”. Set in Paris in 1923, the story revolves around the extraordinary life of Isadora Duncan and her entourage. Often described as the inventor of modern dance, the play describes Isadora’s frenetic and sometimes farcical attempts to secure funding for her ground breaking new dance studios and to make sense of the tumultuous relationships that surround her. This production marks the new series of graduating students work and we invite our industry friends to attend one of these very special performances.
