Are you a New York City progressive individual or organization that’s tired of hearing about healthcare reform that’s no reform at all? Disgusted with an economic “restructuring” package that’s mostly giveaways to big banks and the very rich? Sick of watching Obama win a peace prize for making war?
The Green Party cordially invites you to come to our forum on Friday, May 7th, where we’ll cover these issues and more as part of a vision of the kind of planet we want to live on. We’ll explore how the various challenges humanity faces in the second decade of the 21st century are all aspects of a central problem: an economic system that does not — and cannot — work.
Our speaker is distinguished author (and Green) Joel Kovel, author of The Enemy of Nature: The End of Capitalism or The End of the World? and Overcoming Zionism: Creating a Single Democratic State in Israel-Palestine. Q&A will follow — we encourage all to participate.
A donation of $10 ($5 students and seniors) is suggested, but no one will be turned away.
The Green Party of New York City is part of the Green Party of New York State, which is, in turn, part of the Green Party of the United States, the only party that consistently advocates for the principles of our Four Pillars: ecological wisdom, social justice, grassroots democracy and nonviolence. The Party opposes both sides of the Republican – Democratic duopoly that continues to promote militarism and corporate greed instead of universal healthcare, affordable education and a sustainable environment.
