Friday: Texas Heritage Living History Day, held annually on the grounds of Schreiner University, offers an up-close, hands-on experience showcasing over 60 performers and demonstrators including Native American storytellers and dancers, cowboy poets, humorists and storytellers, Texas singer/songwriters, chuck wagons, teepees and more. Friday and Saturday, Silver Stars & Six Guns
Former Texas Rangers benefit. Friday features a golf tournament at Scott Schreiner Golf Course, #1 Country Club Lane. Saturday 6:00 p.m. is the gala featuring Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Price. Friday and Saturday, Western Artists of America Exhibit continues at the Museum of Western Art, Phenomenal works of art from 23 members of the Western Artists of America. Saturday Kerr Market Days on the grounds of the Courthouse Square, 700 Main Street. Over 75 vendors, all selling Texas-made items. Free admission. 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Items for sale include Native American silver/stone work, flint work, western-themed iron work, rustic and Texana signs, hand-tooled leather work and much more. Friday and Saturday downtown: Stroll historic downtown and experience more western heritage. The Kerr Arts & Cultural Center, 228 Earl Garrett, is housed in the former post office. Enjoy their exhibits, free of charge, and explore their gift shop with Texas-made craft items. www.kacckerrville.com
