Western Greenway Walk: New Trails Walk October 23, 2010

Habitat is part of a much larger regional greenway running through Lexington, Waltham and Belmont - the Western Greenway. The Friends of the Western Greenway has been busy building new trails, boardwalks, and bridges to extend the greenway trail connecting the greenway parcels. We will drive to and then explore 3 new segments of the Western Greenway Trail so you can become an expert on the local off-road pedestrian/bike ways. New trails include Waltham High School to the Waltham Y; Metropolitan Parkway to Walnut Street in Lexington, this includes a 560 foot boardwalk; and Shady's Pond Conservation Area in Waltham (south of Trapelo Road).
