Westchester, IL October 28, 2009 – The Village of Westchester is proud to announce the arrival of “The Moving Wall” to the Mayfair Park in the Village of Westchester, Illinois on November 5th through November 9th, 2009. Westchester will honor America’s veterans with a five day event-filled week honoring our Vietnam Veterans who so bravely gave their lives for our country.

“Bringing The Moving Wall to our community to honor and respect those that have made the ultimate sacrifice provides our residents and neighbors with an opportunity they would never otherwise have, states Village President Sam Pulia. “It will be a privilege to count you among those who witness and experience “The Moving Wall” in the Village of Westchester.”

Westchester Moving Wall events will include:
• A presentation by Roger Mattingly, a military photographer for Stars and Stripes during the Vietnam War on Thursday, November 5th
• Charity Concert featuring The Buckinghams and The Ides of March on Friday, November 6th. All the proceeds from this concert will go to benefit the Wounded Heroes Foundation. The Wounded Heroes Foundation provides care packages to our injured men and women of the armed forces.
• Memorial presentation with Keynote Speaker, Tammy Duckworth, Assistant Secretary of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Saturday, November 7th. Many other honored guests will be present for the ceremony.
• 20th Annual Veterans Day Race, Sunday, November 8th
