Westchester Shamrock 5k March 16, 2013

Come and compete in this fun filled timed run/walk event that is held in the beautiful Westchester Commons Shopping Center, and the Shoppes at Westchester, located in Chesterfield County, VA. Family Members and spectators can line Main Street to cheer on the racers! Enjoy free admission to the festivities, including music, sports demonstrations, food, and family fun. Stop by the Bon Secours Health & Fitness Zone for helpful tips and information, giveaways, and samples. Sedona Taphouse, where the larges selection of craft beers in Virginia can be found, will be offering the first beer for free for adult participants. This event benefits programs which tackle the issues of childhood obesity. $500 is donated to P.E. departments for the elementary/middle/high schools with the most attendance. The 2012 winners were JB Watkins Elementary, Tomahawk Creek Middle, and James River High. Additional, money was donated to Movin’ Mania, an interactive program for Virginia’s youth to learn and practice healthier habits.
