'West Side Story' returns in an all-new production, direct from it's triumphant return to Broadway earlier in 2010. Featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, 'West Side Story' adapts 'Romeo and Juliet' to American shores by placing the two lovers, Tony and Maria, at the center of turf warfare between the Jets, a local gang, and the Sharks, a Puerto Rican gang, in 1950's New York City. Originally directed by the show's Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents, this new staging of 'West Side Story' introduces "the unprecedented element of selectively weaving Spanish throughout both the book and songs," the producers previously announced. In fact, both 'I Feel Pretty' (sung by Maria) and 'A Boy Like That' (sung by Anita) are delivered entirely in Spanish.
