About the Unit:
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE 11 TO 17 YEARS OLD
The Sea Cadets is an organization in which we strive to install military values by displaying self-discipline through marching exercises, uniform up keep and inspections, and team work. We are organized along military lines and provide uniforms to our cadets. We meet one weekend per month. On these weekends, we learn basic seamanship, fire fighting, first aid, and many other skills that will benefit each cadet through out their life in civilian or military life. The cadets also participate in additional training at Navy and Coast Guard stations around the United States. We drill at Great Lakes Naval Memorial & Museum in Muskegon from 0900 to 1600 one weekend per month.
West Michigan Division welcome's you to visit our facility and join in on our fun before you make the commitment to join. We will accommodate up to two months of drill weekend visits. You must have your parents permission to join us, and we encourage they spend some time with our Recruiting Instructor and observing our day.
