West 39th Street Artwalk & Weekend Music Festival
Friday 10/15 from 5 PM? midnight
Saturday 10/16 from 2 PM ?midnight
Sunday October 17th from 2 PM?10 PM
The dance floor is a parking lot and admission is free; located at
the corner of 39th Street and Gennessee 3 blocks East of KU Muedical Center, this monthly event is hosted by The Crave Café, Twisted Sisters Card & Novelty and Local Harvest Organic Grocers.
Artwalk hosts include:
Prospero?s Books (1800 W. 39th St; 816 531-9673),
The Blue Koi (1803 W.39th St; 816 561-5003)
and The Crave Café (1619 W 39th St; 816 931-5282).
Live DJ?s will be spinning tunes both Friday and Saturday
at BBlaze Clothes 1415 W 39th St. (816 931-2593).
Musicians and performers include:
Kasey Rausch, Joel Kraft, Invisible Sea, Wally Leighton, Valency, Madam Cherry & The Mysteries (bellydancers), Aarrat Pipe & Drum Corp (featuring bagpipers), Sounds Good, The White Oak Creek Singers from The Heart of America Indian Center.
Sunday at 7 PM, Prospero?s Books will host a reading of poems from "Tara" ? the newest collection of poetry by William Leathem.
Also on hand this weekend:
The KC Roller Warriors (local women?s roller derby team), massage therapists from the 39th Street Holistic Day Spa.
