On Feb. 17, the Pasadena Youth Symphony will present a family concert, “We’re Off to See Vienna,” featuring mezzo-soprano Suzanna Guzmán, bass-baritone Cedric Berry, soprano Karin Mushegain and tenor Joseph Garate in a fun-filled afternoon with many surprises in store.
As audience members enjoy an afternoon of top entertainment, they will help raise funds to send the orchestra’s young musicians compete at the prestigious, invitation-only Vienna International Youth Music Festival and Competition next June.
Proceeds from tickets -- only $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under -- will go toward sending PYSO to Vienna.
Enjoy classics from the stage: “Wicked,” “Porgy & Bess,” “The Sound of Music,” “West Side Story,” and “Mary Poppins,” as well as classics by Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven.
The concert will be held at 2 p.m. at historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena.
