January 13, 18, 28, February 2, & 11 / 10:00-11:30 am - - Join us for one or more of these winter pre-K programs! - - Animals in Winter: Thursday, January 13 - What animals do you see in winter? Where do they find their food? We will hike to the woods and look for clues of what they have been eating and where they have been sleeping. Discover tracks in the snow and try to guess what animals have been on the trails. - - Backyard Birds: Tuesday, January 18 - What birds come to your yard in the winter? We will walk the trails looking, listening, and calling for birds. Then we will warm up back in the Nature Center and make a bird feeder to take home. - - Mysterious Owls: Friday, January 28 - We will take an up-close look at several owl mounts, and then we will walk to the Hemlock Forest to search for signs of owls and learn their calls. On our return, we will make an owl puppet. - - Magical Groundhog Day: Wednesday, February 2 - Will we have six more weeks of winter or an early spring? Find out today on Groundhog Day and help celebrate this festive occasion. We will look for groundhog holes, sing songs, and create a special craft. - - Valentine's Day Party: Friday, February 11 - Nothing says Valentine's Day like a party. A special pre-Valentine's Day walk is planned, during which we will take a closer look at the natural world around us. A cozy room and refreshments await us at the end of our exploration, and we will make nature valentines to take home. Registration is required. Call 978-887-9264 for details.
