Weaving

All Levels
Students who are inspired by the texture and beauty of hand woven fabrics will enjoy this class, which takes the beginner through the process of preparing the yarn and the loom, and guides her/him to completion of a satisfying finished product. The class assists the returning weaver to become re-acquainted with the structure and techniques of measuring warp, dressing the loom and reading drafts. All students will learn how the loom works, how to design and plan a project, read a pattern draft, and finishing techniques. During a 4-week session, students will weave one project, but may take consecutive sessions to produce larger and more complex projects. Floor looms are available for all students and some hand-controlled table looms are available on a reserved basis.
