We Shall Not Be Moved is, essentially, the "We Are the World" of New Orleans
The musicians of New Orleans are producing a recording and video of the song, We Shall Not Be Moved, featuring some of New Orleans' best players,
singers and choirs, along with national celebrities.
The project is designed to heal, uplift and unify the people of New Orleans---and the world---helping us all turn the page once and for all, release the images of devastation to flow downstream, and stride into the future with spirits soaring.
We're expecting national media coverage for the launch of the WSNBM video on YouTube August 29th.

Every New Orleanian is welcome. The musicians of New Orleans are calling everyone together to create a vision of a unified, joyful future for our city toward which we are leaning with all the weight of our love.
It is important that everyone be represented: from dock workers to the social elite; from Zulu to Rex; from debutantes to Indians; from students to business leaders; from Uptown to the Lower 9 to Lakeview to the East. PLEASE INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW.
Everyone is asked to bring:

ice chests with refreshments

food
large umbrellas
Dress:
Clothing that best represents how you see yourself in our community. From seersucker suits to t-shirts and jeans ... you decide. If you're bringing a group, please wear something that identifies you as a group (like uniforms or t-shirts).
What will happen:
The second movement of our 2-part arrangement of We Shall Not Be Moved is called "The Joy." {You can hear the nearly-completed audio mix on the web
site.) It will be played in successive cycles on a sound system as multiple camera units shoot various scenes of New Orleanians singing and dancing together.
There will be an MC, the wonderful poet, Chuck Perkins, to direct the flow and entertain.
There will be a helicopter overhead for a brief time shooting aerial views, so don't be alarmed.
THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO COME TOGETHER AND SHOW THE WORLD WHO WE REALLY ARE!!!
COME OUT AND BE JOYFUL!!!
Please be aware that your presence at this video shoot is your agreement to allow us to use your image in the We Shall Not Be Moved video and in any and
all promotional materials distributed anywhere.
We Shall Not Be Moved is a non-profit project dedicated to healing, uplifting and unifying our community.
