The Oakland Bay Area Community Chorus (OBAAC) present its Annual Christmas conert "We Have Seen His Star" featuring traditional Christmas Spirituals and a cantata: "The Christmas Story According to Saint Luke" by Roger Wagner, with many traditional Christmas carols. The program will also include soulful rendtions of such spirituals as "New Born" by John Work and "Roun' de Glory Manger" by Willis James and such gospel selecions as "In Excelsis Deo!" and "Mary Did You Know."
Special Guests are: Narrator, Dr. Cornelius Hopper and Organist, Terry Simmons.
The mission of the OBACC, a 50 voice multicultural chorus, is to preserve the traditional African American Spiritual through regular performances.
William (Bill) Bell, a multifaceted musician extraordinaire, known in the Bay Area as "The Jazz Professor", is founder and director of the Chorus. Loni Williams, Assistant Director, is a recorded vocalist and specialist in Gospel music.
