Named "Editor's Pick" by WashingtonPost.com in April & Feb. 2007 & voted by SPIN magazine as one of the 101 hottest things to do in the US Aug. 2006 (but don't let that deter you). We are a monthly celebration of moody & off-kilter post-punk, shoegaze and left-of-center underground independent music! We're talking about stuff from the late 70s (we've got the original DIY movement covered), the 80s, the 90s, yes, even some new stuff. We're talking about bands from the U.K. and the States of course, but also Japan, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland---hell, we've even been known to play bands from places where Kathy Lee Gifford runs her infamous sweatshops! Don't forget the Marx Cafe's charming bartenders will be offering all manner of Belgian beer during the evening!
