There is no question that the need is there. Drugs, violence, prostitution and homelessness are all growing concerns, especially in the inner city. People are desperate and the response was overwhelming when we hit the streets last week seeking signatures from those who live along the route of the walk. “Thank you so much.” “You have no idea how bad this is needed!” “Where do I sign?” “What can I do?” were only a few of the responses that we received. We know that the Word of God says that "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV). It is our desire that this walk will cross over denominational, race and gender lines and join us all in unity to pray God's will in our homes, schools, city, government, etc. Together we can make a difference!
Over 500 area churches, businesses and organizations are being invited to join The Father's House in an effort to pray over our community while raising the monies needed to begin the development and implementation of the Christian Life Center. Prizes will be awarded to the organization with the largest number of participants as well as the participant with the greatest level of sponsorship. Each participant will receive a medal as well as a t-shirt that states "We Care Conroe" on the front and the name of the organization being represented on the back. We are also looking for vendors and Christian talent for the festivities that will follow. You will NOT want to miss this event!
DETAILS:
The walk will begin and end at Heritage Place Park. It will be ~ 3 miles and take 1 to 11/2 hours to complete. Minimum sponsorship is $200 for individuals and $500 for families (immediate family only please), but participants are encouraged to continue raising money for their chance at 1 of 3 grand prizes.
The Christian Life Center will include a Christian School, College of Biblical Studies and School for the Performing Arts. It will also house a drug rehabilitation program and numerous counseling services. Services will be open to everyone regardless of race, gender, age or financial abilities.
