While maintaining an atmosphere of disciplined fun, the Way Off Broadway approach combines theatrical skill-building, creative thinking and group participation all designed to nurture talent, expand self-confidence and engage the imagination. A week of classes culminates in an opportunity for the students to showcase their skills in a public performance of the universal and timeless How to Eat Like a Child based on Delia Ephron?s bestselling book by the same name. The play is a delightful revisiting of the joys ? and tricky ploys ? of childhood. This musical revue offers advice beyond the artful etiquette of food consumption. Ephron also teaches us ?How to Laugh Hysterically,? ?How to Stay Home From School,? ?How to Torture Your Sister,? and much, much more. The Way Off Broadway staff is comprised of working theater professionals who have extensive teaching experience, allowing the students to benefit from the expertise of a highly-skilled and enthusiastic group of teaching artists.
