The Washtenaw Community Concert Band begins its 34th season with a concert on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be performed at the Towsley Auditorium in the Morris Lawrence Building on the campus of Washtenaw Community College. The Band will be conducted by Dr. Christopher Heidenreich, who begins his first season as Music Director of the Band, succeeding Dr. Jerry Robbins, who led the Band for the previous 13 seasons. Robbins continues in the Band as a trombone player and in his role as Conductor Emeritus. The concert is free and open to the public. The program is “Postcards From America”, featuring music that showcases places around the United States as represented by postcards—small picturesque photos sent home with the greeting, “Wish you were here!” For more information, please go to www.wccband.org
