As part of the 2006 Fringe, the Playground Community Theatre will be performing "Wanted: A memory of Baterz" by Sue Hunter. The blurb is as follows:

In Wanted Sue Hunter relates the effect that one talented individual can have on a stagnant relationship between two unlikely fans, one fifteen and the other fifty. The plot takes us to the generation gap. Family conflict and illness
are hilariously connected in the songs Baterz offered to the 'Lords and Ladies' of this fair city in 1999. Songs with unlikely titles like SpiderMother or I'm a Haemophiliac shriek out the huge spirit of Baterz.

According to my friend James, who's in it, Baterz is a sort of background figure against which other stuff happens. However, he says that the guy playing Baterz is very good, and captures the spirit of Baterz when he performs his songs. So it'll probably be well worth going along just to hear some Baterz songs being performed live again.

There's no linky stuff happening for the show yet, but I imagine it'll be listed at the Fringe site once they get around to publishing their program. In the meantime, the email address for enquiries is admin@albertpark.snap.com.au
It's at The Parks Arts and Function Complex, dates are 2,3,4 and 9,10,11 March 2006.

And if you don't know who Baterz is, shame on you. Unless you didn't live in Adelaide or Canberra four to six years ago. In that case you're excused. To help you out:
