The Museum's 135 acres are an incredibly diverse and living example of the complex plants and animals that manage to survive in an area of less than 9 inches of precipitation per year. Nature walks are family friendly with lots of stops to look at and to learn about things: birds, bugs, plants, tracks, scat, rocks, features of the landscape, the sky. Nature Walks are lead by passionate volunteers who are knowledgeable and deeply interested in the wonders of the natural world. But leaders don't know everything, and will be delighted if you have information to add, or spot a feature the leader has overlooked. Nature Walks are a wonderful introduction to the High Desert and will hopefully inspire you to explore the many exciting things right in front of you on your next adventure!
