This Mother's Day, (Sunday, May 10) join over 30,000 people in Chicago's Grant Park (Roosevelt and Balbo) for the 18th annual Walk to Empower, a family friendly one or three mile non-competitive walk and the United 5K run to help ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone. Opening ceremonies and warm-ups with world-famous Ronald McDonald(r) begin at 7:30 a.m. with the race kicking off at 8 a.m. The race is expected to raise $4.8 million. The Walk to Empower is sponsored by McDonald's(r) and benefits the Breast Cancer Network of Strength(r) (formerly known as Y-ME(r)) which provides support for people affected by the disease.
