Walk to Cure Psoriasis - Philadelphia May 15, 2010

The event aims to raise funds for research programs to help find a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Nationwide, as many as 7.5 million people are affected by the disease. Psoriasis, a noncontagious, chronic disease of the immune system, appears on the skin causing red, scaly patches. These patches, often painful and itchy, can appear on any part of the body. Additionally, up to 30 percent of people with psoriasis develop psoriatic arthritis. People with psoriasis are at risk of developing other serious conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and depression.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., walk begins at 9 a.m.

COST: Free. All participants that raise $100 or more will receive a limited edition T-shirt.

Choose between 1K and 5K routes on this walk to raise awareness and funds to combat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. All ages welcome. All participants receive goody bag.
