ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents Walk The Line. This biopic of the life and times of Johnny Cash is elevated by the commitment of lead actors Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, who did all their own singing in the film. Their scenes together exude a genuine chemistry rarely seen in Hollywood films. Phoenix perfectly captures Cash’s demons as well as his passion for a life with June Carter. Witherspoon is an utter joy to watch, bringing charm and vulnerability to her portrait of Carter, which won her an Oscar.
