Great directors such as, Kubrick, Spielberg, Coppola, Scorsese, all started small. Some started developing their eye by taking pictures at boxing events, others started by making World War II movies in their backyard with a handful of friends. How ever they got their start they all kept at it through the support of people they knew.  That's what this week's walk-ins is all about. Come out and support 13 teams of local film makers and help keep their dreams alive.

We're honered to host the 'Best of San Francisco' screening and award event for the 48 Hour Film Project. JD, the 48 Hour local city producer, will be announcing the judge's awards and will also crown the 'Best of San Francisco' which will go on to compete nationally with other 48 Hour city winners, and will be screened at San Jose's Cinequest Film Festival in early 2006.  

But it's not only about the screening, if you've watched The Oscar's you know that it's about the awards and acceptance speechs but really about the post-show bash, this will be no different. JD has offered to open up his home to walk-in attendees and 48 Hour film teams. So stick around after the screening for directions and we can caravan over 'Convoy' style.

If you're not familiar with the 48 Hour Film Project you can find out more information at: www.48hourfilm.com The basic idea is that each team has 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, score their movie and all production and creation must happen in that 48 hours. It's a race to beat the clock and turn in your film by the 7:30 bell on Sunday.

Also, i just wanted to give a special shout out to Meghan for hooking the walk-ins up with a least another season's worth of pop-corn. One of the key reasons why i continued the walk-ins was because of the great people and community that attend. Thanks for keeping it real!
