Participate in City of Hope’s Walk for Hope Nationally Presented by Staples in Philadelphia and help discover new treatments and ultimately a cure for women suffering from breast and gynecological cancers. In 2011, there will be more than 290,000 new cases of women’s cancers in the U.S. City of Hope knows that fighting one woman’s cancer at a time is not enough. Walk for Hope Philadelphia, held Sept. 18 at Campbell’s Field, supports City of Hope’s multidisciplinary Women’s Cancers Program and is part of the nation’s only series of walks that benefit research, treatment and education programs for cancers unique to women. To register for the Walk or to donate, visit www.walk4hope.org.
This year’s Walk for Hope Philadelphia will feature an array of activities including sponsor giveaways, a survivors’ pavilion, live music and entertainment, a kids’ area, team photos and more. Event day registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk begins at 10 a.m. The 5k Walk/Fun Run will cross over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge through Old City and end at Headhouse Square where finishers will be welcomed by Mummer’s.
