Fresh from the Philly Fringe 2008, Tender Thread Productions presents playwright/director Theresa Diamond’s Ridiculous play, WAITING FOR THE SHOW, in its NY premiere. This raucous physical comedy centers on the events of one afternoon’s rehearsal of a pro-life skit by two women in the basement of a major research hospital. Nina, is a 30ish suburban housewife and Christian evangelical; Anne, is a twenty-something, timorous, re-enactor of the Declaration of Independence. Every day Anne interrupts rehearsal to take Nina to the Treatment Room for ”the treatment” prescribed by Drs. Freud and Nietzsche as part of a secret drug experiment to destroy the women's real identities. But this day bedlam erupts when Anne remembers her passion for p***y and the two women turn the tables on the doctors.
With Angela Carolfi and Kristin Ciccone.
