Your Winter Weekend away in the Robertson Wine Valley.....
Fancy a fun-filled weekend in the Cape Winelands? Come and enjoy award-winning wines and warm hospitality in the Robertson Wine Valley. The 3rd annual WACKY WINE WEEKEND is taking place from 2 to 4 June 2006.
The festival takes place at more than thirty wineries across this beautiful valley and offers something for everyone: food fundis, art & music lovers, outdoor & sporty types, the young, the old, family and friends.
New on the cards this year is a half-marathon along the lovely canna-paved road between Bonnievale and Robertson, a chauffeur service to encourage responsible tasting and fly-in packages from Johannesburg and Durban.
This is the ideal time to get up close and personal with the local winemaking community! There are plenty ?meet-the-winemaker? tastings and some of the winemakers will be hosting private ?barrel-tastings?. Activities include boat cruises; sunset game drives; river rafting; live music (classic, Italian, blues, Afrikaans pop, rock etc); cheese & olive tastings; golf, terroir tractor trips; wine tasting in a candle-lit cellar; vineyard quad biking; and much, much more.
There is also plenty to eat, with everything from hotdogs to gourmet delicacies! These include riverside picnics; an Italian ?Republican day?; a delightful seafood evening; bon-fire potjiekos; traditional ?boerekos?; Argentinean steak; and fresh oysters with bubbly. The list just goes on and on!
For the kids there will be pony rides; ?stok-brood? barbeque; inflatables; face painting; traditional ?tom bola? games; ?kettie? target shooting and much more.
Be sure not to miss the Wacky Wine Weekend in the Robertson Wine Valley - make this your winter weekend away!
