After years of sharing their talent with many great musicians in the Bay Area and beyond, the VW brothers (Mark and Paul Van Wageningen) have stepped out as bandleaders. They have been the driving force on bass and drums on countless recordings in a multitude of styles including funk, latin music, fusion, R&B, and of course, jazz.
Their latest release, "Muziek", serves to illustrate their immense talent, versatility and virtuousity. They have created a marvelous alchemic example of the possibilities of what jazz continues to offer us in the new millennium. While embracing and honoring tradition, "Muziek" explores and reconfirms our shared legacy and connections in modern music by combining and meshing styles.
Joining Mark and Paul are Murray Low (keyboards) and Joe Cohen (saxophone) in what promises to be an exciting show ... and all for free at the relaxing, comfortable Hedley Lounge in San Jose.
