VUU vs. VSU in the Freedom Classic January 20, 2013

Richmond, VA – Experience one of the largest southern rivalries on the east coast at the 2013 Freedom Classic Festival Presented by Virginia Tourism, January 17-20th. Virginia Union University and Virginia State University will go head-to-head on the basketball court at the Richmond Coliseum on January 20, 2013. Attendees will not only enjoy a dynamic, heart-pumping game, but additional activities for the entire family, including an Alumni Reception, Fine Art Benefit and Sale and a High School Drumline Competition Presented by McDonald’s.

The Freedom Classic Festival acknowledges and commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The weekend also provides an opportunity for youth to be exposed to the collegiate experience. This year’s theme is “Your Future, Our Legacy.” The theme emphasizes the importance of honoring past legacies while also preparing for the future. The Freedom Classic Festival encourages participants to create their own legacy.
