VSA, the international organization on arts and disability, will celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 with a larger than life screening of Simon Mckeown’s groundbreaking video installation Motion Disabled on the façade of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, on the Verizon Center’s outdoor video marquee, and in the Town Square space at Artisphere. Seventeen countries around the world will also be screening the work; VSA’s two-day celebration is timed to coincide with the kick-off screening in Australia and will continue through Dec. 3.
This mesmerizing installation explores the uniqueness of each person’s physicality and challenges conventional ideas of motion.
