American women gained the right to vote in 1920 with the 19th Amendment, right?
Wrong, at least for California women, who fought for and won full voting rights in 1911. This event will explore California’s role in setting in motion the modern woman suffrage movement, and the uses to which our state’s women put their ballot in the first few years.
