GIVE $5,000 TO MT. PISGAH
The Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah (http://www.bufordpark.org/) stewards the 2,300-acre Howard Buford Recreation Area, which is Lane County's largest park. This beautiful park is located between the Coast and Middle Forks of the Willamette River and is home to lush riparian forests, dense fir forets, and globally endangered oak savannas and praries. The Friends' mission, which transcends the park's boundaries, is to protect and enhance native ecosystems and compatible recreation in the Mt. Pisgah area. In partnership with the Nature Conservancy, the Friends are also leading efforts to acquire an outstanding adjacent 1,200-acre parcel with six miles of river frontage that would greatly expand the park's boundaries and connect it with other nearby parks.
Here is how you can help. River Network is giving away $5,000 to one lucky conservation group working to protect rivers and watersheds in Oregon or Washington. Your vote for Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah will help them win that grant! The group which gains the most votes wins.
Just go to www.rivernetwork.org/news/win-river-trip-and-vote-5000, scroll down to VOTE FOR RIVERS, click on "click here to vote" place a dot in the circle next to Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah, type in your e-mail address, and click "submit".
Thank you so much for thinking globally and acting locally!
