Travel as a volunteer to learn something new and help the world at the same time.
Volunteer travel offers you a chance to do things you have never done, in places you have never been, with people you have never met, while having the time of your life.
What is not to love!
Voluntourism, volunteer vacations, service travel are simply different titles for the same idea – traveling and dividing your time between volunteer work and leisure activities. The percentage of time you spend on each is determined by the project selected, the organization, and your personal and volunteer goals.
What will you learn:
Some of the benefits of volunteer travel include; a deeper, more meaningful cultural exchange, the opportunity to learn a new skill, network for personal and business contacts, explore different careers, indulge in a hobby, and discover things about yourself.
There are so many options and different companies that you can quickly become overwhelmed. Common questions include: What can I do? Where is it offered? Is it safe? Do I need special training? I only speak English. How do I find a legitimate project? HELP!
During the evening you will:
Uncover six basic questions to narrow your search.
Learn about different types of organizations and projects.
Hear about costs and what is generally included on a standard volunteer trip.
Leave with handouts, resources and ideas to keep the momentum as you plan a trip.
Who should attend:
Volunteer travel is perfect for people who are looking for new ways to travel alone, as a couple, with a group, or as a family. From middle schoolers to retirees, there is some way you can volunteer. Whether for two weeks, several months or an entire year, volunteer travel can be transforming and a great way to experience the world on a deeper level.
Passports and shots are not required to attend.
