United HomeCare, one of South Florida’s largest home health and community care organizations, is recruiting new volunteers for United Friends for Seniors, its volunteer community service program. The non-profit agency currently serves nearly 5,000 elderly and/or disabled adults across Miami-Dade County. Volunteers can make a difference in the lives of these individuals by visiting with those who live alone and providing friendly companionship and social contact with the community.
United HomeCare invites individuals who want to learn more about this unique volunteer opportunity to attend a Volunteer Open House on Thursday, March 28. Walk-in visits are welcome throughout the day between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 pm. Visitors will learn more about the volunteer enrollment process and hear about the experiences of others. Refreshments will be provided.
