Volunteer Open House January 13, 2008

Thomas Jefferson's retreat home, Poplar Forest, will host an Open House on January 13th for anyone interested in donating time as a volunteer.

Volunteers are needed to work with school children in educational programs, assist in the Museum Shop (admissions), and lead guided tours through the historic house and landscape.

Volunteers participate in a thorough training program of four, 3-hour classes and are provided with comprehensive materials.

All Poplar Forest volunteers receive free family admission to Poplar Forest, library privileges and a 15% Museum Shop discount, among other benefits.

NOTE: In case of inclement weather, the Open House will be held on Sunday, January 20th at 2:00 pm.
