volunteers needed for Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
hosted by Volunteer Site Coordinator - Sue Horne
Eau Claire Market and Princes Island Park
Saturday September 15th at 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Bring your family, friends and co-workers to help support the environment. This event is FREE and happening rain or shine. Everyone welcome to attend this river clean up at Eau Claire Market and Princes Island Park. These are high traffic areas along Bow River that need plenty of volunteers to help keep it clean for wildlife.
Our efforts in Calgary on September 15th are part of a global community of volunteers around the world cleaning up the shorelines on the same day! It's International Coast Cleanup Day and I've been organizing a volunteer cleanup on this day for the past 4 years. I even have prizes for the most unusual items found on the shoreline.
Pre-registration via online website at http://www.vanaqua.org/cleanup. You are also able to drop-by and help on the day of the event.
Safety orientation (1:00pm) and supplies provided (gloves, garbage bags & liability forms). If you have one handy - please bring a bucket or two for sharp items . Established groups also welcome and participants under 18 years must have accompanying adult. Plenty of parking on street around Eau Claire Market – even underground pay parking. Meeting spot at the Eau Claire Market by the bridge entrance to Park. Look for us there!
Any questions just ask - Sue at 403.999.2175.
