Volcano Theatre’s Goodness returns to Toronto in a completely reworked version. Written by international award-winning author Michael Redhill, the play is a gripping examination of life, love and personal responsibility in the face of genocide. Laced with choral music from Zimbabwe to the Ukraine, and under the direction of Volcano artistic director Ross Manson, Goodness asks: "Why do good people rush to do evil?" and resonates deeply with today’s world.
This powerful play features some of the best acting talents in Toronto: Layne Coleman, Lili Francks, Tara Hughes, JD Nicholsen, Gord Rand and Amy Rutherford.
Goodness runs September 16 through September 27 at The Theatre Centre. Volcano then takes the show to Rwanda where it will be performed as part of the commemorations of the 15th Anniversary of the genocide there. The New York Times calls Goodness “…a gripping and important play...haunting…shocking.”
