Vocal Arts Ensemble: Local Treasures concert May 9, 2009

Benjamin Cohen directs this 30-voice chamber choir in its gala spring concert featuring guests People Dancing, Dance Body,River Raisin Ragtime Revue, and singers from Greenhills School. Gian Carlo Menotti's "The Unicorn, the Gorgon and the Manticore", a "madrigal fable" set to music and dance, tells of a man and his mythical animal companions and their gossiping, comical neighbors. Also the world premiere of "Lady Liberty", a new choral piece composed by William Bolcom for VAE, and more.
