In preparation for the upcoming 2012/2013 flu season, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) offers flu shot clinics this September and October at various locations throughout the St. Louis region, as well as places of employment by appointment. In addition, walk-ins are always welcome at VNA headquarters in Creve Coeur. “Say ‘Boo’ to the Flu” family clinics take place in October for those 6 months and older, giving busy families an easy way to help “scare” away the flu virus. The events include activities to help kids overcome their nerves about getting a flu vaccination. “Say ‘Boo’ to the Flu” clinics take place Oct. 6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the O’Fallon Family YMCA, O’Fallon, and Oct. 13 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lindbergh High School, Crestwood. VNA’s flu clinics help support the organization’s year-round mission to meet the healthcare needs of the community, especially children, the elderly and those who cannot afford healthcare. Call the VNA flu hotline, 314-918-9090, or visit www.vnastl.com for more information about the seasonal flu and all of VNA’s flu clinics. Call 314-513-9922 for information on travel vaccinations and additional VNA services.
