Vladimir Nabokov was a respected and dedicated naturalist, who studied blues, a group of species of small iridescent blue butterflies that exists worldwide. The program opens with a selection of readings from Nabokov's writings about butterflies. The second half of the program is the one-act opera, Vladimir in Butterfly Country, with score by Ann Callaway and libretto by Jaime Robles.
