From the Saint Paul Convention and Visitors Bureau website:
With Harriet Island playing host and the city of St. Paul serving as the stunning backdrop, local media and marketing experts, Mario Duarte, Michael Robles and Alberto Monserrate have set the stage for Vive Minnesota! El Festival®, an annual three-day celebration of Latino music, art, food and culture over the long Memorial Day Weekend.
The timing of this event, during this major national holiday, provides an opportunity to bring all communities together and acknowledge the sacrifices our nation's armed forces have made to make this type of celebration possible...a festival that revels in the traditions waves of immigrants have brought with them to this country.
Two stages will showcase the talents of local, regional and national acts performing Salsa, Latin jazz, Mexican, cumbia, merengue, folk, rock, classical, reggaeton and much more. And a stroll through the food alley will provide "tasting" portions of such specialties as Peruvian empanadas, Cuban ropa vieja, Mexican tortas and much more.
Come for the music and dancing and tempting array of Latino cuisine. Stay for "throwdowns" between local Latino chefs, family-friendly entertainment and much more!
