Vittorio Ghielmi, viola da gamba and Luca Pianca, lute February 26, 2010

Award-winning viola da gambist Vittorio Ghielmi and Il Giardino Armonico founder Luca Pianca, lute have toured the world performing the extensive, but little-known repertoire for lute and viola da gamba. Their most recent CD, "Bagpipes from Hell," explores the rustic side of the repertoire alongside more refined works by Marais, Gallot, Forqueray, S. L. Weiss, Abel, and Lidl, and provides the basis of their début concert with the Boston Early Music Festival.
