Virtual Motion - Butterfly October 12, 2007

Butterfly will be infused with passion, power, vulnerability and lots of vibrant colour, promote athleticism, action, flight, fear and liberation. The piece will have the trademark movement vocabulary created by Helen Smith and will develop in its process of balletic, Indian martial art, contemporary infused choreography.

“I was particularly struck by the comment if someone just cracked open and released the butterfly from its cocoon it would be unable to fly. It would not really be able to survive. It was the struggle of getting out of the cocoon that gave it the strength to survive and fly.”
